Hooray for Mrs. Rush

Get to know Mrs. Dayna Rush!

I have taught for 5 years total, with 4 of those years at Barnett.

I have a husband named Chris. Chris and I have been married for close to three years. We have two of the cutest dogs ever, Apollo and Bleu. Apollo is a Boxer mixed with a German Shorthair. Bleu is a Norwegian Elkhound.

I love working out! Most of my activities include going to the gym, going on walks with my dogs, or going on runs on the trails in Eureka. When I'm not working out I love painting ceramics. My current project is Santa's 8 reindeer. I am hoping I can get those done so I can have them to decorate with next Christmas.

I was a pretty good student in elementary school. I loved school and I loved all of my teachers. I was a very motivated student, but I was also terrified of failure. I held myself to such high expectations with a crippling fear of failure. I have tried really hard to make sure the students I teach aren't afraid of failure like I was.

This summer we will be going to Disneyland! We will also be spending some time at the beach while we are in California. When we get back I will be working on some house projects that need to be done and of course- getting ready for the next school year!

I am working on creating a morning routine full of self care. I am going on morning walks, meditating and giving myself enough time to eat breakfast! Hopefully this is something I can carry over when the school year starts!

Favorite goodies: I love Diet Coke and a sugar cookie from Sip N!
