Congratulations to our Title I Technician Teona Humphries and Secretary Bobbi Diamond for being chosen as our Outstanding Employees of the Year.

TEONA HUMPHRIES

Teona has been a gift to us here at Barnett Elementary. She is continually working to help teachers and students in every way possible. She collaborates with the other technicians to help provide interventions for students to help them progress. She is always willing to jump right in and try something new, or offer her help, or be a friend. She was willing to get certified in our Steps program which took hours and hours and hours of time, but then also attended many extra trainings to learn other programs so she can confidently tutor even more students.

Teona has helped out in many ways with Leader in Me as well. She has worked with lighthouse kids to film videos to teach the habits, as well as handwriting videos to help younger students. Teona has helped with planning family nights and arranging for and encouraging other families at our school to participate.

She has been so valuable to our Title I team and school and is always looking for ways to help.  When we need a last minute sub, she is often the first one to volunteer to come in early and work all day, even if the text goes out at 7:00a.m. Teona often anticipates our needs before I even get a chance to think through them. She organizes reading groups and proactively makes changes to best fit the needs of the students and teachers. I can’t imagine doing my job without her on our Title I team! She is SO well deserving of the Outstanding Employee award. Congratulations!

BOBBI DIAMOND

This is a well deserved award for Bobbi Diamond, head secretary at Barnett Elementary.  She has worked at Barnett for 20 years (and 5 principals) the first 3 years as the after school program doing Leather Tooling.

Bobbi is the heart of Barnett!  She can sense what others need and knows how to respond. Her happy smile is warm & welcoming.  She makes everyone feel important, loved and welcome- that they matter.  She has a genuine concern for the students.  And is well loved. She makes  Barnett a better place.  And, she is 'Yeti' fun to be around!
