Get to know Mrs. Cheri Kunz ~ Transitional Kindergarten teacher.

I have taught TK 14 years at Barnett. Wouldn't wish for it any other way!

We have 5 children and 15 grandchildren (only 2 in Utah). My husband grew up in Bountiful. I grew up in upstate NY. Our son lives in NY, our daughters live in NV, CO, Santaquin, and our youngest lives with us in Mapleton. My husband teaches physics, so we have some things in common with our careers.

I love playing pickle ball, going for bike rides, gardening, reading, and knitting.

A memory from my elementary school years: I always liked learning new things. Math was my favorite subject. On the first day of school, I got in the wrong bus and wondered why it was taking so long to get home. I was scared when I was the only one left on the bus. Luckily, the bus driver knew my dad and where we lived and took me home.

We spend most of the summer visiting or being visited by our kids and grandkids. We go camping, biking, hiking, kayaking, and they play in the back yard on the trampoline, water slide, and 4 wheelers. I like making up obstacle courses and treasure hunts for them to solve with the clues in secret codes (Morse code, Braille, German, ...) and they like solving the codes and finding the prizes.

Something I am working on is going to bed earlier.

My favorite drinks and treats are water, fruit smoothies, trail mix, peanut M&Ms.
