Barnett is an Energy Star School

Submitted by angela.stoddard on

Our school has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® certification for superior energy performance!

ENERGY STAR Certified buildings and plants are verified to perform in the top 25 percent of buildings nationwide, based on weather-normalized source energy use that takes into account occupancy, hours of operation, and other key metrics. ENERGY STAR is the only energy efficiency certification in the United States that is based on actual, verified energy performance.

Kindy 500

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Our Kindergartners went for a trip around the country in their super speedy Kindy 500 cars. Their trip started off with a Kindy 500 parade for the school showing off their cool cars. Then they drove their Kindy cars to different stops and learned all about our National Symbols. They visited the Statue of Liberty, the White House, and learned all about the Bald Eagle to name a few spots. Our Kindergartners had a great trip!

Congratulations to the students who were awarded Top Dog of the Month and Leaders of the Month! Way to be awesome students! We are lucky to have each and everyone one of you at our school!

Dr. Seuss Day Fun

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! We at Barnett Elementary celebrated the favorite childhood author's birthday on March 2. Students and teachers were invited to dress up like their favorite book characters to celebrate the day. There were read alouds, and readathons! Special thanks to the Community Action Center for donating books to every student to take home! We appreciate what you do for our kids and their education.
