Constitution Day

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Monday, September 17, Barnett leaders gathered together in unity as we celebrated Constitution Day as a school. Our hosts of the assembly were members of the Student Lighthouse. Barnett Elementary joined together in singing “You’re a Grand Ole’ Flag”. Three sixth grade students, one from each class, gave amazing speeches on what Constitution day meant to them. Barnett Leaders were inspired as they thought about the freedoms we have and how grateful we are to live in such an amazing country. The students then sang, “The National Anthem”.

Day of Caring

Barnett Elementary loves Day of Caring! United Way sponsors a day when businesses from all over the state give service in many different ways. So on September 13, Day of Caring, Barnett was lucky to have volunteers from US Synthetic come to our school for the morning and boy did they work hard. These awesome volunteers painted our basketball courts and provided us with new basketball nets. They painted all our blacktop games and made a new numberline on the blacktop for students and classes to use for a fun math activity.

Let's Talk About Wigs

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Barnett Leaders learned about their two new school Wigs for this year! Wig stands for Wildly Important Goal. At Barnett Elementary we have two Wildly Important Goals. The first goal is making a years worth of growth in our reading. The second goal is staying on track with our behavior. With the help of Mr. Cope and the WIG baseball team, Barnett Leaders were able to better understand how we make our goals and what we can do to reach them. It was a great assembly and we are excited to see all of the goals that will be met this year at Barnett Elementary.

Bootcamp Assembly

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Attention! On Wednesday, Barnett leaders were known as Barnett recruits. With teachers and students dressed up in camo, the scene was set for a great Bootcamp assembly. Sergeant Sheets led the Bootcamp assembly so our recruits could learn and master the rules. All of the teachers put on skits or played videos to help teach the recruits the rules of the school. This year, we are going to "Lead like Champions" and following the school rules will help! The recruits graduated from bootcamp, now all experts in following the rules.

Lead like a Champion

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Today was our first assembly of the school year. Barnett Leaders gathered together to learn what our new school theme is for this year. This year we are going to Lead like Champions! Many of our leaders were wearing their brand new school shirts for this awesome spirit Friday! Mrs. Stoddard told us about what it means to be a champion. Not always are champions people who win trophies, but who are leaders in everyway of their lives. Barnett Bulldogs will leave this year knowing, "I am a champion!"
