In the 1-3 grade UEI we have spent the first few days of school learning about being proactive. Each student made a face where the eyes, nose, mouth, eyebrows, and cheeks can be manipulated to change the mood. We have read several stories to help us see what different moods look like. As we read the story, we change our faces to show the different moods. We are learning that being proactive means that we are on charge of our own mood, we can change our mood when we want to, and that we have the choice to be happy.
In first grade we are learning how to be proactive! When we are proactive we are in charge of ourselves! Being proactive means never saying "I can't" but thinking and saying "I can!"!
It was another blue carpet day as we welcomed our new kindergartners to their first day of school! Our kindergartner leaders did so well listening to their teachers and being good friends to each other today. It's going to be a great year!
Barnett cadets received orders Friday, August 26th, 2016 to attend a back to school bootcamp. Cadets were marched into the assembly and greeted by General Stoddard. Once there, they received instructions on their mission for the school year: to be leaders, live the 7 habits, and keep our school clean and bully-free. Cadets were also introduced to their FIRST EVER Wildly Important Goal (or W.I.G.).
