Submitted by jaimie.standish on

Barnett Elementary Students celebrated another wonderful year at Barnett this past week. We had field day, a reading assembly, pizza with the principal, a water dodgeball fight against the teachers, a 6th grade vs. Faculty Kickball game, and even a trip to Payson Pool. It was wonderful to celebrate another year of hard work and lots of learning. Have a safe and happy summer Bulldogs! Remember to read and practice your math facts all summer!

Barnett Kindergarten Graduates 2016

Submitted by jaimie.standish on

Barnett was excited to celebrate all the hard work our Kindergartners have accomplished this school year at their graduation on Friday, May 20th. The students performed songs and pledges that they had been working on all school year. Congratulations to these awesome students and a big thanks to the teachers and the parents for helping get off to a great start in their school careers!

4th Grade Utah County Reports

Submitted by jaimie.standish on

Barnett 4th graders set up a Utah county visitor's center showcasing each of Utah's 29 counties! Each student researched and wrote a report on the individual land forms, history, economy, and points of interest of a county. Students put a lot of hard work and effort into their projects! They all created posters and physical representations of their unique counties. Students also learned two songs about Utah and performed them for their parents. They were able to show off their talents and their hard work in a special program and visitor's center display.

Blast Off With Mrs. Lloyd's 2nd Graders

Submitted by jaimie.standish on

Today a real rocket scientist came to visit Mrs. Lloyd's class! Mark Johnson was kind enough to teach the whole class how to make rockets. We used card stock paper, decorated, rolled and taped together. We then used packing tape to make some fins for the rocket to help it be stabilized during its flight. When we finally went outside to launch the rockets we were amazed at how high and how far they were able to go! I guess now we are rocket scientists too!

Barnett Mathletes Compete in District Competition

Submitted by jaimie.standish on

This week our top 5th and 6th grade math students participated in a District Math Olympiad Competition. I was so proud of them and how hard they worked on each math problem. Every participant walked away with a new T-shirt for all of their effort. We would like to congratulate Sadie Ercanbrack who took 2nd place in the 6th grade division.
