Barnett Choir Events

Submitted by beth.knudsen on

This last week, Barnett Elementary was favored with two special performances by the Barnett Choir.  On Monday, the choir sang a selection of the songs they have been working on the past few months. Some of the songs they sang were: "I Will Fly," "In Summer," "When Christmas Comes to Town," "Love is an Open Door," and "Believe."  The student body was entertained by the singers and it helped start this last holiday week in the right spirit.

Principal's 200 Club Winners for November

Submitted by beth.knudsen on

Students at Barnett Elementary have been working hard this month to earn Brag Notes. When a student earns a brag note their name is added to the Principal’s 200 Club Board. Brag notes can be earned by making good choices, working hard in school, and being a good friend or helper just to name a few things. Once the board is full of student names we have a drawing for books and prizes. Here are our winners for the month of November. Thanks for making so many good choices Barnett Bulldogs!

Gobble Off 2014

Submitted by beth.knudsen on

Every year students get to compete for the best turkey gobble in the school.  To prepare, each class did a competition to decide on a winner from each class. Then each of those winners got to compete with the rest of the student winners in the school.  After narrowing down the 20 or so candidates to three gobblers, fourth-grader, Enrique Barrajas won the all-school Gobble Off!  Enrique won a turkey to take home; the other contestants took home a large candy bar.

Wild About Reading!

Submitted by beth.knudsen on

This year's theme for Barnett's reading program is Wild About Reading! In keeping with that theme, students who turned in their reading calendars for October and met their goal were able to throw a sponge at their teachers.  It was a fun, motivating assembly for students--and the teachers didn't get too wet.
