6th Grade Clark Planetarium

Barnett 6th Grade receives a "one-of-a-kind" field trip grant to educators from Target. In October, Mrs. Leach submitted an application to be a recipient of this grant and in January was informed that they were awarded the funds, which in turn allows all the 6th grade classes at Barnett to go to the Clark Planetarium in Salt Lake City.

The students experienced the Foucault Pendulum, looked at moonscapes, touched meteors, and observed seasons and planets in the Hansen Dome Theatre. It was a whole day of exciting fun and learning!

Barnett Kindergartners celebrate 100's day. Adorned in self-crafted hats, these Kindergartners are proud of the fact that they are "100 days smarter." This is one of the ways that the kindergarten students at Barnett Elementary celebrated completing 100 days of school!

Barnett fourth-graders get hands-on Science experience at Diamond Fork Canyon.

On February 18 all of Barnett Fourth Grade observed the wild in Diamond Fork Canyon on snow shoes. The Forest Service put on great presentations that were both educational and fun. The students learned about wildlife and their winter patterns, adaptations and the effect of weather on animals. They learned so much that they all want to go back!

The annual 3rd Grade Spelling Bee took place at Barnett on February 5th, 2010.  The students competed in a class spelling bee first and from there the top three spellers moved on to the final round where they competed against the other classes.  All 12 finalists did a great job.  Grace Haskell and Jordan Mathews came in 2nd and 3rd place and Adam Call won with word "enemies."  Congratulations to all who participated!

Barnett PTA throws a GROOVY party for the upper grades and their families. This fundraiser had everything from disco dancing to games. Students won prizes and ate great food; everyone in attendance had a "far out" time. Thanks PTA!
