Barnett Elementary had some very special guests today delivering backpacks loaded with school supplies. "This was the Utah Highway Patrol's first school supply drive and we are so grateful to have been able to donate to your school. Back in August we reached out to the community through social media and asked them to donate school supplies to each one of our section offices. The Women's Provo Elk Lodge played a tremendous part in the donations in your area, as well as other community members. We are so grateful to be able to donate them and help the community in any way we can." A HUGE
Mrs. Tiffany Wilde, our art teacher, held a contest for any and all students to contribute artwork to be selected to hang in the district office. There were so many wonderful entries, that she had students vote. The winning artwork was by Robby Curtis in Mrs. Flint's 5th grade class. His dragon art will represent Barnett at Nebo School District offices. The other great art that students loved will hang in our very own Bulldog Art Gallery.
All winners who received a book and a token:
Robby Curtis (Flint)
Norah Harrison (Nash)
Syris Griffin (Staheli)
United Way partnered with BYU and US Synthetic to provide service, manpower, teaching and materials for Barnett. They painted activities on our blacktop, trimmed bushes and trees, spread bark, cleaned up overgrown areas and taught lessons in 5th grade classes.
THANK YOU volunteers!! Our school is a better place because of your service!
These AMAZING volunteers from @brighamyounguniversity spent their workday serving (& sweating it out) at Barnett. They painted fun schoolyard activities on our blacktop, cleaned up the fence line by trimming back bushes and trees, cleaned up overgrown areas of the playground, fixed our soccer nets, and spread and evened out bark. We appreciate these volunteers SOOO much!! Thank you for your service!
