Students are recognized daily for making positive choices and then their names are written on our Brag Board. 3 students are randomly chosen to win a token and a book. Stephanie Galt, our awesome instructional coach at Barnett Elementary, said, “Thank you so much for the grant awarded to Barnett Elementary for the purchase of books known as decodable readers. The purchase of these books will allow teachers access to materials that support very strategic reading instruction that directly aligns to phonics instruction. In many instances teachers are working with students struggling to read and need materials that target specific phonics patterns. That targeted use of language is exactly what decodable readers provide.
We have had a wonderful Faculty & Staff Appreciation Week. Our Parent Lighthouse crew, headed up by Kristyn Gunderson, prepared a popcorn bar for us, all donated by Haulin & Ballin.
