2nd Grade Field Trip

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

The 2nd graders attended a field trip to the Bean Museum at BYU.  They attended a show highlighting animals and the habitats in which they live.  They were able to see  a snake, a cockroach, and a frog! They could even touch the snake! Touring the museum, they saw the new exhibit of the Titanoboa- the world's largest snake from ancient days.  We went to North Park for lunch and some play time.  It was a little cold, but they had a grand time!

Blue Pack Party

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Borealis Blue Pack had a fun time at their party today. Blue pack were the winners for Term 2. Let me tell you a little about the packs. The entire Barnett Elementary, faculty and students were placed into packs. They were placed into a pack by spinning a wheel that designated a pack for them. Then as an entire pack they try to earn pack points by being on their best behavior whereever they are in the school. Any faculty member in the school can give a student a pack point for good things they see happening. Borealis Blue worked so hard in Term 2 and earned the party.

Fire Drill Practice

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Barnett Elementary knows how important it is to be prepared. Even in the most serious incidents. Our first week back from Winter Break, we had a fire drill. The alarms sound and flash, but no worries, Barnett students know what to do. They quickly line up and are prepared to exit out the closest door. Teachers lead them out to a designated safe location and take count of the students they have. When all students are accounted for, the classes reenter the school knowing they have just accomplished another important drill.

Bulldog Pride in December

Barnett Elementary awarded Top Dogs and Leaders of the month in December. This month, as crazy as it was, resulted in great acts of academics and leadership in the classroom. How lucky are we at Barnett Elementary to have so many leaders to choose from. Not only do we have great students are Barnett Elementary, but also great faculty members. Our Alpha Dogs for December were Mrs. DeNaughel and Mrs. Standish. Here are December's Top Dogs and Leaders of the month.
