Families Teaching Families

We had a fantastic Family Night on September 23. Our Title I Coordinator shared how our Title I funds are spent and used to help support student learning and parent engagement. We also heard from our 1st-3rd graders as they sang a new leadership song. Well done kids! Two of our 6th grade students, Katelyn Caldwell and Taylor Humphries, spoke about settling goals both at school and at home. Our principal also spoke to kickoff our night of learning and sharing. Parents were able to select 2 out of 5 classes being offered that night taught by Barnett parents and families on these subjects: how to communicate better in families, improving our listening skills, creating family mission statements, eliminating the unimportant, prioritizing time, and a Spanish class on the 7 Habits. We ended the night eating ice cream while having many drawings for prizes such as gift cards to local businesses and family games to encourage more family time together. Thanks one and all for coming!
