Get to know Mrs. Amaya Flint, 5th Grade Teacher!
I have taught 5th grade for 4 years, 3 of those at Barnett!
My husband Charlie and I have been married for 6 years. In February we welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Audrey. We think she is the cutest and sweetest baby ever!
I love to read, and lately that includes listening to a good audiobook! I also enjoy musical theater, especially watching my husband in musicals and plays, and occasionally being in them myself. We recently took a trip to New York and saw 6 shows on Broadway! I also love watching a good movie, and traveling (especially to Disneyland!)
I loved school! When I was in 5th grade, we got to participate in the Hope of America program where we sang songs about America. My friends and I really wanted to learn the songs perfectly, so we would play 4 Square, but every time we got the ball we had to sing the next word of a song. If you got it wrong, you were out!
This summer we have a few vacations planned! We went to Lake Powell early in June, and we will go to the Oregon Coast for two weeks in July! We are also taking Audrey to Disneyland, but not until September!
I want to work on getting healthier this summer, and be better about exercising! I am excited to try some of the classes at our local Rec Center!
My favorite drink is Diet Dr. Pepper. My favorite snack is popcorn and my favorite treat is a milkshake!
