You-Tube acclaimed "Kid History" makes history at Barnett

Patty Hansen, a fabulous first grade teacher at Barnett Elementary, is the proud aunt of You-Tube "Kid History" creators and stars Brett, Randy, John, and David Roberts. Mrs. Hansen arranged for them to visit Barnett Elementary to talk with grades K-3 about how important writing is in capturing memories. Brett talked about revision in writing and how they had to revise continuously during filming to get the perfect story. All of the brothers talked about writing and storytelling and made writing more applicable and appealing to the students. The students were laughing and quoting along as they watched two episodes of Kid History with the creators and actors present.  At the end of the assembly, Brett and Randy Roberts stood at the door giving students high fives as they left. The Roberts left a very positive impression since most young writers hate revising their work. Students at Barnett now have awesome examples of what can happen when you do edit your work.
