Net Positive Assembly

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

We love it when Net Positive comes and we learn from Cole Parkinson. As we learn about online safety and being wise with technology, we are supporting our Safe and Healthy Choices Week

Notice the photos with our students with their hands raised. These are pictures where different devices were projected and Cole asked the students to raise their hands if they have used each device before.

Ask your kids what they learned today about being safe online!

We LOVE Mr. Sasser!

Submitted by kali.brown on

Happy National Custodian's Day! We have the coolest custodian around. Mr. Sasser is beloved by the students, always with the longest line at yearbook signing. He dresses up for all the occasions and keeps us laughing with his hilarious faculty emails. Mrs. Sasser is an all-around great guy and our school just wouldn't be the same without him.

As a Title I school, we are privileged to receive funds to help with student learning, interventions, support, and teacher development.

Here is a VIDEO to hear from our principal, Mrs. Brown, explaining in more detail what it means to be a Title I school.

All parents, families and guardians are encouraged to watch.

September Bulldog Pride

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

We are so excited to be able to recognize our Top Dogs and Leaders of the Month as nominated by their teachers in each class K-5. These students have demonstrated excellent behaviors and growth in academics. These students receive a wristband, token and book of their choice.

We also love recognizing the Alpha Dogs in the school, as nominated by the faculty: Mr. Kern, Title I District Specialist and teacher mentor, and Ms. Lee, our lunch clerk, who manages to get 75 kindergarteners through the lunch line in under 10 minutes on a daily basis!

Family Empowerment Night Monday

Submitted by sarah.sumsion on

On Monday, September 25 we will have our evening with parents, families and Barnett faculty. We have activities planned by our Parent Lighthouse and Title I teams. There will be a take & bake pizza to enjoy later that evening or save for another day! Each family will also receive a book, which we will send home with students if your family is not able to come.
