5th grade students concluded their unit on Heredity by comparing and contrasting two organisms. The students focused on the organism's life cycle, specialized structure, environment, and traits. They worked with a partner to create their posters to display their information. Students then had the opportunity to walk around the room and learn about different organisms their classmates researched. It was a great way to show all they had learned in Science!
Barnett held its schoolwide Science Fair Tuesday, February 9th, 2016. Students learned about the scientific method through conducting and reporting on their presentations. There were many wonderful projects. Winners are listed below:
Shapes! Shapes! Shapes! Mrs. Evans class has been learning their 2D and 3D shapes. One of the students' favorite activities was to draw their own pictures using the shapes. Then they each shared what they drew and the class had to guess what their picture was about. Some of them were pretty funny and all were very creative. Next we will do 3D shapes using play dough!
