Kindy 500

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

The Kindergartners at Barnett had such a fun time at the Kindy 500. We started with a parade of box cars that the students made, race cars, bugs, firetrucks, school buses and so many more. Parents and other grade levels loved seeing the little kids parade around the school so proudly. Kindergartners then went on a tour of the country (classrooms in our school) to see American symbols and landmarks.

March Bulldog Pride

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Just before we went on spring break, we acknowledged the top dogs and leaders in our school. Teachers choose who in their class is turning in exceptional work. These students take pride in their work and always show that it truly is their best. These students are our top dogs. Teachers then choose from their class, who is living the 7 habits everyday. These are students who are working hard to show and establish their leadership skills. These students become our leaders of the month. We started off our assembly with our Barnett cheerleaders.

3rd Grade Field Trip

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

The third grade students had an awesome field trip. They went to the BYU Bean museum. They went to one of the shows the museum puts on about ecosystems and living and non-living things. The kids could even pet a snake if they wanted! After that, the kids enjoyed a nice lunch eating and playing in a park. The day was really fun and the kids were great. Thank you to the parent volunteers for your help. Thank you to the Bean Museum for letting Barnett students visit! It was a blast!

Awarding Mrs. Franson!

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Janet is an amazing teacher and exemplifies everything said in this poem. She is inspiring, patient, caring, and really pays attention to all of her students.  She has a great relationship with them and shows them that they are important.  She is willing to do everything and anything asked of her.  The special ed students and teachers at Barnett would be lost without her.  We love Mrs. Franson!!!

4th Grade Rendezvous

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

The fourth grade students have been learning about Mountain Men. They learned about all of the Mountain Men who lived in Utah. The students worked hard to earn beaver pelts in class in preparation for the rendezvous. On Friday, the students got to use their beaver pelts to trade at the rendezvous for items from the trading post, play games and to get scones and other delicious treats.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Submitted by angela.stoddard on

If you walked through Barnett Elementary on Dr. Seuss' birthday you would have seen The Cat in the Hat, Thing 1, 2 and even 3! You could have talked with The Lorax, Fox in Socks, and Horton too! It was a great day as we dressed up as a Dr. Seuss character, celebrated reading in our classrooms, and every student went home with their very own book!

This week we had a special day for all our classes. It was Junior Achievement Day! Volunteers from US Synthetic, America First Credit Union, Junior Achievement of Utah, and many wonderful parents spent the morning with our students teaching them all about Financial Literacy. The students loved having guest teachers and learning so many important skills in math, literacy, and social skills! A big thank you to the many volunteers that spent time with us on this awesome day.

Principal 200 Club Winners

Submitted by angela.stoddard on

Students at Barnett Elementary have been working hard this month to earn Brag Notes. When a student earns a brag note their name is added to the Principal’s 200 Club Board. Brag notes can be earned by living the 7 Habits, making good choices, working hard in school, and being a good friend or helper just to name a few things. Once the board is full of student names we have a drawing for books and prizes. Here are our winners for this month. Thanks for making so many good choices Barnett Bulldogs!
