Dr. Seuss Day Fun

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! We at Barnett Elementary celebrated the favorite childhood author's birthday on March 2. Students and teachers were invited to dress up like their favorite book characters to celebrate the day. There were read alouds, and readathons! Special thanks to the Community Action Center for donating books to every student to take home! We appreciate what you do for our kids and their education.

Synergizing among Grade Levels

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Barnett is a Leader in Me school where we learn about habits and try to pracitce them as much as we can. We had some students who were demonstrating Habit number 6, Synergizing. Mrs. Taylor's 4th grade students taught Mrs. Fuhriman's 2nd grade students about the rock cycle! They used chocolate chips and as you can see in the pictures, it was a really good time!

Bulldog Pride in January

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

Barnett Bulldogs held their Bulldog Pride Assembly this past Wednesday.  Students that are top dogs and leaders of the month are nominated by their teachers. It is so hard to choose since we are a great school filled with amazing leaders! Congratulations to those students who worked so hard and were recognized as Top Dogs and Leaders of the month. At these assemblies we also recognize those that have moved up reading levels, the leader of pack points, pick of the pack and our Alpha Dogs! Congrats to our Alpha Dog winners Mr. Talbot and Mrs. Spencer!

2nd Grade Field Trip

Submitted by dayna.kirgan on

The 2nd graders attended a field trip to the Bean Museum at BYU.  They attended a show highlighting animals and the habitats in which they live.  They were able to see  a snake, a cockroach, and a frog! They could even touch the snake! Touring the museum, they saw the new exhibit of the Titanoboa- the world's largest snake from ancient days.  We went to North Park for lunch and some play time.  It was a little cold, but they had a grand time!
